I was born and raised in Brevard County Florida, where I attended Rockledge High. I learned a lot about leadership and teamwork as a member of the track, wrestling, and football teams. After graduation, I moved to Orange County to attend UCF (Charge On Knights!) and earned my Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice. UCF is also where I met my wife of 25 years, Susan. We have been blessed with three beautiful children, two dogs, four cats, and two goldfish.
Born to parents who legally immigrated from Chile, Susan grew up in Central Florida watching the American dream materialize for her family. Through hard work, respect, and a true desire to become one with the great country they chose, they learned English and started their own business. Her parents would frequently say "There is nothing you can't do if you are willing to put in the work!" (No hay nada no puedas hacer si estas dispuesto a esforzarte.) Our family embraces that belief.
Degree in hand, I became a probation officer and have the utmost respect for law enforcement. I have never been afraid of hard work. While in college, and for a period after graduation, I delivered pizzas and worked construction digging ditches. My wife and I subsequently opened a pizza restaurant, however, growing a new business given the damage to the economy after 9/11, proved too challenging. I had a family to support. I earned a real estate agent's license and enjoyed that and mortgage origination, until I discovered my love of travel. My wife and I currently work as flight attendants, allowing me to once again indulge my love of helping people while earning a living.
My time traveling our great country, and meeting people from all regions and walks of life, has deepened my appreciation of the freedoms we enjoy in Florida. I am not a career politician, but rather an extremely concerned citizen who feels it is my duty to not just talk about change, but to serve my community and State to effect that change. I will work diligently as your Representative of District 35 in the Florida House of Representatives, always listening to your concerns and taking action on behalf of my constituents.
