  The idea discussed about State “firewalls” to stand up against federal overreach is one of the correct avenues we need to pursue.
  
  Newton County made a very important step in this direction recently creating a sanctuary county through their Second Amendment Preservation Act, protecting their residents’ 2nd Amendment rights to keep and bear arms.
  
  Jasper County would do well to follow suit if they haven’t already done so.
