IF YOU’RE A VOTER, YOU CAN DO MORE THAN VOTE
Now more than ever, Americans are questioning the trustworthiness of the system by which we cast and count our votes. How does this get better? Voters can take action. What can voters do? Let’s start by helping to improve the accuracy of our voter rolls.
Introducing IV3, a web-based app that empowers voters with an automated way to confirm accuracy, identify ineligible records, report findings to local authorities, and stay up to date on the recent changes to your local voter rolls.
AN ESTIMATED 24 MILLION VOTER REGISTRATIONS ARE INVALID OR SIGNIFICANTLY INACCURATE.*
Is this really a problem?
Yes. In 2012, in one of the last major studies in public circulation*, over 13% of the voter rolls were identified as inaccurate. When invalid records are used in the mass mail out of ballots, it leads to confusion, frustration, and easy targets for election manipulation.
How’d it get so bad?
Federal and state law quagmires, constant political pressure, and lack of resources often hinder the ability of counties to keep the rolls up to date.
What’s being done?
Counties try to do what they can, but it’s a struggle. IV3 will help engage voters and support good governance - improving election integrity for everyone.
THE POWER OF VOTER ENGAGEMENT
Almost every state in the country provides voters with a way to help improve the accuracy of their county voter rolls. How? By registered voters submitting potentially ineligible records for local review through a process often referred to as a voter challenge.
